Exceedence Probabilities of Local Maxima of Non-isotropic Random Elds, with an Application to Shape Analysis via Surface Displacements

چکیده
Data used for the analysis of shape change has been modeled as non-isotropic Gaussian random elds, and local changes in shape are detected by local maxima of a random eld of test statistics derived from this data. In this paper we use the Sampson & Guttorp (1992) model for non-isotropy in which their exists an unknown mapping of the support of the data to a space in which the random elds are isotropic. We derive a simple estimator of this mapping, and use it to derive estmators of parameters required to nd the exceedence probability of local maxima based on the expected Euler characteristic of the excursion set of the test statistic random eld. The results are used to detect shape changes in the outer cortical surface of the brain.

Analytical Solution for a Two-Layer Transversely Isotropic Half-Space Affected by an Arbitrary Shape Dynamic Surface Load
The dynamic response of a transversely isotropic, linearly elastic layer bonded to the surface of a half-space of a different transversely isotropic material under arbitrary shape surface loads is considered. In this paper, one of the simplest and most regular members of the family of the Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) methods; namely MLPG5, is applied to analyze the thick-walled isotropic laminated cylinders under elasto-static pressure. A novel simple technique is proposed to eliminate a very important difficulty of the meshless methods to deal with material discontinuities regarding to the...

A 5th order shear deformation theory considering transverse shear deformation effect as well as transverse normal strain deformation effect is presented for static flexure analysis of simply supported isotropic plate. The assumed displacement field accounts for non-linear variation of in-plane displacements as well as transverse displacement through the plate thickness. The condition of zero ...
متن کاملBeta - Binomial and Ordinal Joint Model with Random Effects for Analyzing Mixed Longitudinal Responses
The analysis of discrete mixed responses is an important statistical issue in various sciences. Ordinal and overdispersed binomial variables are discrete. Overdispersed binomial data are a sum of correlated Bernoulli experiments with equal success probabilities. In this paper, a joint model with random effects is proposed for analyzing mixed overdispersed binomial and ordinal longitudinal respo...
